Wait- I'm an SF bicyclist and am absolutely IN FAVOR of the removal of this tiny stretch of bike lane!!!! Anywhere else i would disagree, but in this case, it is important that cyclists be seen and integrated into car traffic because with the current design, bikers are too separate from traffic and are not seen. I ride this bit frequently and KNOW this would be safer!!!! Help!

Thank you Streetsblog for getting the word out about this important issue. At a time when NYC has striped more than 100 miles of bike lanes in the last 2 years, while SF has striped 0 new bike lanes because of the Bike Plan injunction, it's truly shocking that some SF leaders would allow the MTA to even consider this backward step.

For folks who can't come to the rally, please write the Mayor, the MTA leaders, and the Supervisors to urge them not to strip the bike facilities.
