They're causing so much congestion in the "huge grandiose" stations that they've become the major bottleneck on system capacity. As a city resident I have not, and will never, use a suburban parking garage. They have nothing to offer me -- not even Zipcars! nobody makes the same parallel in terms of the cost of maintaining the huge grandiose stations that are underground in Oakland and San Francisco.
