No wonder Marie Harrison is skeptical! She could tell us a lot more about the soaring asthma rates already present in the area, which has two freeways running through it, and the slimy tactics being used to squeeze out the African American population. The proposed bridge is just one aspect of the suburban vision Lennar and its flunkies continue to push. Thanks for shining a light on this.</description>

		<description>There will be more people driving to/from this development during rush hour than taking transit.  As shown in the report, this is worse than existing SF neighborhoods like the Marina and Mission.  See for yourself

If SF wants to build &quot;green&quot; or &quot;sustainable&quot; communities, the transit and parking program needs to be redesigned.  Unfortunately, unlike other recent SF plans like Market/Octavia, this development is stuck in 1950&#039;s-era &quot;one parking space per dwelling&quot; requirements.  This will add 16,000 parking spaces, not including the 49ers!

All this traffic will plunge the whole Bayview and Hunters Point into gridlock; and, it will kill birds too.  This development needs fewer parking spaces and fewer cars.</description>

		<description>3% bicycle use really is not visionary at all.  San Francisco already had (at minimum) a 2.7% rate according to the 2007 ACS, which was taken before the latest spike in gas prices.  Even with the bicycle injunction, the city&#039;s bicycle counts show a 64% increase in bicycling between 2006 and 2008, so (by a conservative estimate), San Francisco&#039;s mode share is already at least 4%.  Considering driving is becoming increasingly unaffordable, and Bayview-Hunters Point is one of the warmest, sunniest areas of the city which will have brand new bicycle infrastructure, I&#039;d estimate an 8-10% mode share by 2015 at minimum (and if Lennar/SF Planning Dept. weren&#039;t so conservative, 15-20% is not out of the question).</description>
