The OAC as currently envisioned is probably one of the worst transit projects ever conceived of. By their own evaluation it provides no improvement over the existing system, fares will double, there will be no increase in ridership, and it will "only" cost $500 million.

It is a travesty, I am in favor of anything that can kill this stupid project.

There's something fundamentally wrong with Bart as an agency that goes way beyond transportation planning and Dunscombe's arrogant and malevolent comments. We're talking about an agency that has had the Oscar Grant shooting, the OAC fiasco, and a near-strike this year alone. I just wrote about Bart's backwardness at http://21stcenturyurbansolutions.wordpress.com/2009/09/04/bart-the-bay-areas-most-backwards-transit-agency/

and half-billion dollar OAC with no intermediate stops between Coliseum and the airport is a stupid boondoggle. Add in a stop or two and you have a legitimate addition to the transit network.
