Add Ingleside Library to the list, just reopened yesterday in a new building with bike parking out front. Ocean and Plymouth.

I recall that a public school in the Richmond district had to hold a fundraiser to buy bike racks last year because SFUSD wouldn't (or couldn't) give them any money.

CPMC Davies campus responded to requests from SFBC members and others to increase the number of bike racks for staff and visitors. Davies Engineering Dept. has cleared a previously unusable bike parking area for new racks. The new racks -- right at the entry of the parking garage -- will accommodate 10 additional bikes and will be ready within the next three weeks.

It will be good when the schools can have more bike parking. My son goes to Balboa and has to park his bike on the street because he can not get there early enough to park in the racks! Too full bike parking is a good thing!

Went shopping at Rainbow Grocery the other day. Parking lot was full. Their bank of bike racks was completely empty.

I've seen some new injunction-exempt bike parking around at:

-The newly restored Richmond branch library (the rack spells out the word "BOOKS")
-At Sava Pool as part of the completed renovation
-Outside Box Dog Bikes they installed a metal railing around a street tree; which works flawlessly as a multi-bike parking space.
-At the south end of Ocean Beach (on GGNRA property), coinciding with Sunday Streets.
-Some long rows outside the Academy of Sciences and some underneaath the Music Concourse dome.
-Some at Stonestown and SF State.

My high school had a 1/4 acre of bike racks in the 1980s. When did those disappear? When did America decide that kids should be driven to school every day? No wonder our children are obese.
