They are putting in beautiful, completely buffered bike lanes willy-nilly. (Don't they have red tape in New York? Insane law suits? Byzantine environmental regulations? What gives?) Earl Blumenauer, Janette Sadik-Khan, and Mikael Colville Anderson are all gods in the pantheon of bicycle goodness. New York has completely leapfrogged over San Francisco in terms of bicycle infrastructure. They are putting in beautiful, completely buffered bike lanes willy-nilly.
