This Week in Livable Streets Events

This week, the BART Board could decide whether to fire GM Dorothy Dugger and the East Bay Bicycle Coalition holds a key fundraiser to support the Bay Bridge Pathway and help make the East Bay more bicycle friendly. Here are the highlights from the Streetsblog calendar [1]:

Tuesday: The SFCTA’s Citizens Advisory Committee [2] on Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) meets. Agenda items include an update on federal funding and the presentation of an analysis of a travel demand forecasting scenario. 5pm.

WednesdayThe AC Transit Board of Directors meets [3]. Items include consideration of a report on the customer complaint process and changing the composition, role and meeting schedule of the BRT Policy Steering Committee. 5pm.

Thursday: The BART Board of Directors meets [4]. Although it’s not on the agenda, the board has been talking [5] about potentially firing General Manager Dorothy Dugger. Other items of interest include an update on the Oakland Airport Connector. 9am.

Thursday: Join the East Bicycle Coalition [6] for its “Bridge the Bay” benefit at the David Brower Center in Berkeley. The aim is to “raise awareness and support for the Bay Bridge Pathway for cyclists and pedestrians; to promote the EBBC’s mission of making the East Bay more bicycle friendly; and to support the Fast Freddie Foundation’s goal of encouraging young cyclists.” 6:30pm.

Saturday: Join the SF Bike  Coalition for a survey ride of one of its “Connecting the City” routes, the Bay Trail Bikeway. “What will it look like, what will it take, and where do we start? Come along and examine one of three Priority Bikeways set out by Connecting the City to get us from here to there, by bike.” 10am.
