Eyes on the Street: Muni Bus Rolls Into Parked Car, Bike Rack in the Haight

A Muni bus that had stopped on Masonic and Haight streets at 7:50 this morning lost control, and rolled backwards, crashing into a parked car and a bicycle rack that had a bike locked to it in front of Coffee to the People Cafe. The 37-Corbett stopped on the sidewalk after colliding with the car, and fortunately, no one was injured.
“The coach was at its terminal and the operator got off to put on the wheel block when it rolled back and made contact with an automobile,” said SFMTA Spokesperson Paul Rose. No one was on board the bus.
The driver will be placed on non-driving status while he is tested for drugs and alcohol as a matter of a protocol, said Rose. Thanks to Streetsblog tipster Andy Blue for sending in the photos.
