Taking a coffee break here and just wondering who with a job can possibly attend 1 pm. SFMTA meetings? Is there an online comment area for these meetings, so that those of with jobs or children can give input?
My comment to the SFMTA would be to take advantage of the clipper card program so as to institute fare raises pegged to inflation. That would mean sometimes raising fares by a 2-6 cents some years. Cash paying customers could see a higher raise to something practical like a dime or a quarter. BART raises fares each year, pegged to inflation and so it’s incremental. Takes the politics out of it, and it’s practical, because people aren’t fumbling in their pockets for exact change.
“It's easy to hate on Muni but with... key on-street changes I see (red transit lanes, all door boarding, Haight St changes at Market, Lincoln Ave at 19th Ave) it finally seems Muni is making real improvements and it shows.”
