So the ABC7 piece is really about parking and blocking drive ways. Yawn. Someone blocks your driveway, call it in. Case closed.

I also like how she talks about how many parklets are under-utilized but she’s standing next to a busy one. If they are so common, why couldn’t you film your segment next to an empty parklet?

Aaron, you are right though, ABC7 tried to make something out of nothing and all they proved is how popular parklets are and why they’ll continue to expand.

  • Notice their headline on the web page is “Parklets: Good for Business?”, and yet if you watch the piece, that never even comes into question. Better yet, the preview headline on the screen next to the anchor is “Parklet Backlash.”

SF Citizen has long ago jumped the shark.

The wording in the segment was priceless as well–I’m glad ABC7 informed me about “the City’s growing parklet problem.” Otherwise I wouldn’t have realized there was a problem at all!

  • Missing the final “x” off of the  Attorney: Driver “Needs to Be Held Accountable” for Injuring Three Peds on Treasure Island (Injury Board) link.

  • Thanks, fixed.

Lol. Taking away parking is their reasoning for opposing to some parklets. I went on a parklets tour organized by SFBC and a guy from SFMTA (won’t name names) said the goal is to make streets close off to cars. And parklets is a for it. Parklets are here to stay. Deal with it.
