A woman was injured in a crosswalk by a shuttle driver at 18th and Dolores Streets, next to Dolores Park, at about 12:40 p.m. today, according to reader Patrick Santana.
Santana said the woman, who appeared to be in her late 30s and was pushing a baby in a stroller, was ”still alert and standing” with an “injured lower leg/foot.” The baby appeared uninjured, he said.
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and was talking to Emergency Medical Technicians who responded. Santana said he didn’t witness the crash, and it’s unclear which direction the driver was traveling, how fast he was going, or what the traffic signals were displaying at the moment of the collision.
Santana also noted that the woman didn’t seem to speak English, and that the driver, a man in his 30s, appeared to be translating for her to the EMTs. Police were just arriving as Santana left, and it’s unknown if the driver will be cited.
