This Week: Supes Debate Free Muni for Youth vs. Maintenance

This week, the Board of Supervisors revisits whether to fund free Muni for youth or Muni maintenance, and the SF Bicycle Coalition hosts a ride to envision protected bike lanes on Second Street.

Here are all the highlights from the Streetsblog calendar ^[1]:

Monday: SFMTA North Beach Meeting: Central Subway Tunnel Boring Machine Options ^[2]. The SF Municipal Transportation Agency will hold a community meeting to discuss options for removing the Central Subway tunnel boring machine in North Beach to address neighborhood concerns about the construction impacts. 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday: SF Board of Supervisors Meeting ^[3]. On the agenda is a resolution urging Muni to prioritize $6.7 million in regional funds for maintenance instead of free Muni for youth ^[4]. The board will also consider one step toward instituting the Transportation Sustainability Program ^[5] and revisit approval of California Pacific Medical Center’s parking-heavy ^[6] development plans. 2 p.m.
Also Tuesday: SFBC Bike Ride: Love Your Lanes – Second Street ^[7]. SFBC members are invited to join this ride along Second Street and envision the city’s proposal for protected bikeways ^[8] ahead of the next community planning meeting ^[9] on November 28. 5:30 p.m.
