Just read the short article about the 97 year old woman struck and killed in a crosswalk in Petaluma. Pedestrians should not have to be without disabilities in order to walk safely on sidewalks and in legal crossings. In addition to the 8 to 80 bicycle route guidelines, is there a set of guidelines that would keep all ages and abilities pedestrians safe from cars? I grow more concerned with this issue as I see my elderly parents becoming more vulnerable every year.
