Meet outside Duboce Park Café - Duboce and Sanchez Get springtime going with the Good Roads Crew on this special-edition Park to Park ride. We start at the bike-friendly Duboce Park Café and then pump north to take on the bike routes in the Richmond. Weather permitting we'll find all the pothohes, cracks, and trenches that make cyclists dodge and wish we were coming their way. After taking on Lake, Cabrillo, and the connectors in between stops at the cycle-fave Velo Rouge Café for a jolt and the Arguello Super for picnic stuff. We'll be celebrating the car-free space in the park with Freedom from Training Wheels for the kids and for the adults? Good ol' lounging and chatting with other awesome SFBC members. Bring a frisbee, or a blanket, and some snacks or drinks to share at this potluck picnic. A great chance to meet the SFBC staff (new and old) and oodles of SFBC members. Meet at Geneva Skate Park near Crocker Amazon Soccer fields. SF Urban Riders and IMBA Trail Care Crew Jason Van Horn and Inga Beck will lead a casual group ride on select trails of McLaren Park, Including an extended recreational loop that leaves the park utilizing Multi Use trail, bike path, and paved road. There will also be information to share about SFUR's proposal to create a bike skills complex in certain areas of McLaren Park. The ride will be a casual 14-18 miles, but require a good effort. Mountain or Cyclocross style bike strongly recommended. Bring layers of clothing dependent on weather, water and snacks. SPUR Forums are open to the public, free for members and $5 for non-members. The Presidio Trust has identified a “preferred alternative” for revitalizing the Presidio’s Main Post and is in the midst of a public comment period on the supplemental EIS to the Presidio Trust Management Plan for the Main Post district. The executive director of the Presidio Trust, Craig Middleton, will present the Trust’s vision for the Main Post. The Contemporary Art Museum at the Presidio (CAMP) is one of the key projects in the preferred alternative. Sam Nunes and Bryan Shiles, partners in the San Francisco architectural firm WRNS Studio, will discuss the design concept for the building that is being proposed for CAMP.

Meet at Duboce Bikeway at Market Street Each second Saturday of the month the SFBC Bike Buddies hit the street to acquaint new riders with common or challenging bike commute routes in San Francisco with a Route Ride. An experienced bike commuter leads these rides at an easy pace; new riders are encouraged. In April, familiarize yourself with the Wiggle, one of San Francisco's most famous bike routes, connecting Market Street to Golden Gate Park, NOPA, the Richmond and the Sunset. The Planning Department and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) are holding an Open House to reintroduce the Glen Park Community Plan. The evening will begin with a brief presentation at 6:30pm. Come learn about the Plan elements and hear staff from Planning, SFMTA and BART give updates on work underway. The Planning Department expects environmental review to take 18 months and adoption of the Plan to follow. BART is considering replacing its small parking lot with housing and open space.
