    Re: “An Icky BART Ride”

Just what is up with the BART ticket machines at Powell? The ones by Hallidie Plaza are constantly out of order, and only a couple of them around the corner take credit cards. I often see confused tourists wondering why the machine won’t take their card, because they haven’t parsed the nuance of the paper signs (or noticed them) that say debit and cash only. And that’s assuming they didn’t get confused and are buying a BART ticket when they want one for Muni or vice-versa Why have machines that can’t take credit cards and why are they broken so regularly?

Seems like it could be a good story for a Streetsblog investigation.
