Growing Momentum for a Car-Free Market Street Ahead of 2015 Repaving
An unprecedented planning effort is currently underway to redesign Market Street, and transform it into a grand car-free thoroughfare in 2015, when it's scheduled to be repaved. But why should we have to wait that long for a car-free Market Street? There is a growing momentum to do more aggressive trials that would inform the Better Market Street planning process, and divert more private automobiles off Market to improve conditions for people who ride transit, walk or bike.

Candidates Talk Streets and Parks at Mayoral Forum
Eight mayoral candidates turned out for last night's forum on streets and parks sponsored by Walk San Francisco, the Neighborhood Parks Council and Friends of the Urban Forest. The Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club's endorsement meeting was also going on, and some of the candidates, who were juggling schedules, either showed up early and had to leave (Dennis Herrera), late (John Avalos, David Chiu) or not at all (Ed Lee, Bevan Dufty).

Scenes from Sunday Streets Western Addition
An estimated 10,000 people turned out to celebrate Sunday Streets in the Western Addition, NOPA, Fillmore and Alamo Square neighborhoods yesterday. By all indications, the event was a success, and the weather, well, perfect. And we're in for another treat this week.
