SPUR Lunchtime Forum: Play in the City
"Come and see the plans for a new playground in Dolores Park! Designed by KLA Architects, the plan includes new play structures (the current ones are 30 years old) made of green materials, improved signage and a new drainage system. Nancy Gonzalez Madynski of Friends of Dolores Park Playground and Meredith Thomas of the Neighborhood Parks Council will give a preview of the design, and talk about the unique collaboration (with the City's Department of Recreation and Parks) that has shaped the design, fundraising and approvals process."

Second Bay Traditions Bicycle Ride: A Tour of San Francisco Modern Architecture
"This bicycle tour led by SFBC Board Member David Baker, Robin Levitt and Rob Bregoff will focus on notable modern residential architecture outside of San Francisco’s downtown core. It will look at works by Second Bay Area Tradition architects and contemporaries, including buildings by Richard Neutra, William Wurster, Gardner Dailey, Henry Hill, Joseph Eichler and Anshen + Allen. Part of a rich architectural tradition, these buildings are also a feature of our everyday landscape. Ride will cover 20 miles (about 4 hours), including hilly terrain. Riders must provide their own bicycle (low-gearing recommended) and wear comfortable clothing with layers and a helmet. The tour will stop for lunch (lunch not included)."

SFBC Rec Ride: Oakland Bike Tour
Join SFBC Member Lynne Howe on a bike ride to join one of the September Oakland Museum of California docent led bike rides. This month's options are Downtown or Wetlands/Port. Each tour is an easy 5 miles and lasts 2-2.5 hours. Rides start at 10am at the museum, 1000 Oak Street, one block from Lake Merritt BART. Sf riders will take the 9:23 Dublin train to Lake Merritt.

West of the West Ride
"San Francisco is the West's West, but when was the last time you pedaled all the way out to the Pacific Plate? This ride will take a loping, loving look at the City's western edge, stopping to explore curiosities and celebrities along the way, ruins and relics and remarkable riches. 2 hour ride; have a big lunch beforehand, we'll stop somewhere for a snack. Rain cancels rides."
