Free Urban Cycling Workshop: Intro to Safe Cycling (Day 1)
"This four-hour in-classroom, introductory course is perfect for new cyclists and those want to feel more comfortable riding on city streets. Class will cover the basics for how to choose the right bike and properly fit a helmet. Learn tips for the safest ways to ride in traffic, techniques to avoid or deal with road hazards and emergency maneuvers along with other useful gems of knowledge, like the best way to lock up your bike and how to use a bike in combination with public transit, and cyclists' legal rights and responsibilities. Adults and anyone over 14 years of age are welcome, preregistration is required. Bring your lunch or dinner. No bicycle is needed for this class."

Bike Kitchen June Advanced Maintenance Class
Class will be hands-on, so bring a bike and get ready to get greasy. It will cover installation, overhaul, maintenance and adjustment of hub, headset, and bottom bracket bearing systems, as well installation and removal of freewheels and cassettes and replacing spokes and nipples.

Monthly Good Roads Ride – Castro
"Starting at the City's first Pavement to Parks Site, we'll venture out on the rest of the neighborhood's pavement. The Good Roads crew will sweep through the Castro to make your rides smoother and safer. Our goal is to mark every pothole, crack, and trench with spray paint and report them to 311 for rapid repair. We usually average 50 potholes in just two hours. Following our street action, we will celebrate with drinks and lunch. Heavy rain cancels."

SFBC Bike Buddy Route Ride: Polk St and the Marina Wiggle
Each second Saturday of the month the SFBC Bike Buddies hit the street to acquaint new riders with common or tricky bike commute routes in San Francisco with a Route Ride. An experienced bike commuter leads these rides at an easy pace; new riders are encouraged. In June, learn the best North-South bike route through the middle of the city. Roll through Fort Mason and by the Marina Green, and learn to connect these scenic bike paths with everyday commuter routes. The ride will begin and end at City Hall. Heavy rain cancels.

MTC Public Hearing on Proposed Oakland Airport Connector
MTC proposes to redirect savings in Regional Measure 2 funds from the BART Tube Seismic Strengthening project to the Oakland Airport Connector project. At this meeting, MTC’s Programming and Allocations Committee will hold a public hearing and review the public comments received on the proposed RM2 funding change.
