This week, SPUR holds a talk in San Jose to make the case that linking Silicon Valley and Hollywood with California High-Speed Rail can help California fund the project itself. Also, be a part of BART Bicycle Brigade in Alameda's Fourth of July parade, and the SF Bike Party celebrates the London Olympics in classic punk rock fashion.

Join one of three community meetings this week to hear about the design options for the Geary Bus Rapid Transit project. A Supes committee will also hold a hearing today on the California Pacific Medical Center's parking-rich projects, and head out to the Mission this weekend for another sunny car-free day of Sunday Streets.

Learn more about the Geary Corridor Bus Rapid Transit Project at Tuesday's SFCTA meeting or at one of several neighborhood outreach meetings the following week. You can also weigh in on bicycle access plans for BART's "Fleet of the Future" cars at Oakland's BPAC meeting Thursday, while the weekend gets started with the Bicycle Music Festival in Golden Gate Park.

Tomorrow, the Board of Supervisors could greenlight the parking-saturated 8 Washington projects. On Wednesday, help shape the SF Planning Department's plans for development along the Central Subway corridor on Fourth Street, and Thursday's SPUR forum will look at curbing suburban sprawl in the Bay Area.

The SFMTA Board and a BART task force will each discuss plans to experiment with removing prohibitions on bike access this week. On Tuesday, Human Transit author Jarrett Walker discusses quality public transportation at SPUR, and the SF Bike Coalition holds its 20th annual Golden Wheel Awards. The SF Planning Department will also present final plans for streetscape improvements on Broadway in Chinatown at an open house.

This week, Caltrain fields input on plans to restore service, the SF Transit Riders Union holds a fundraising party, and Sunday Streets opens Valencia and 24th Streets once again. Also, don't miss a talk next Monday with Gil Peñalosa, who helped pioneer the Sunday Streets-inspiring Ciclovia in Bogotá, Colombia.

Join SPUR on Tuesday for a forum on upcoming Bus Rapid Transit projects in San Francisco and the South Bay. On Wednesday, Shaping SF holds a discussion that's sure to be a captivating on "challenging the 20th century paradigm of automobile-centric streets."  Then on Thursday, the Transbay Transit Center could pass a major milestone at the SF Planning Commission hearing on its environmental impact report.

Don't miss the SF Transit Riders Union forum tonight at 7 p.m. to learn all about the Van Ness BRT proposals. On Friday, speak up in support for the Oak and Fell Street bikeway project at a crucial SFMTA engineering hearing to help ensure it's approved as soon as possible. On Thursday evening, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and Association of Bay Area Governments also convene to possibly adopt the preferred scenario for Plan Bay Area, the regional smart growth plan.

Bike to Work Day is coming up later this week -- don't miss out on the perks and festivities for bike commuters around the Bay Area.
