SPUR Lunchtime Forum: The Transit Sustainability Project
"The Metropolitan Transportation Commission has launched a regional
Transit Sustainability Project to create a more robust, financially
viable transit system that is both cost-effective and customer-focused.
The project will study service design and delivery, financial viability
and decision-making structures while keeping in mind the role of
external factors such as land use and transportation pricing—both
critically important issues as the region prepares the Sustainable
Communities Strategy required by SB 375, the land use portion of
California’s climate change law. With Carolyn Clevenger, Deputy Executive Director of the MTC."

SVBC Office Bike Move
"It’s official, SVBC will be moving to a new office in San Jose on Saturday, September 4, and we'd love to do a bike move to show the community how fun this can be. In order to accomplish this, we'll need a lot of volunteers (we have a lot of stuff!). We will need folks with bikes and trailers who can help transport our things for about 3 miles. If you don't have a trailer (or can't borrow one) we'll still need your help to load and unload. Plus, this can be your chance to get your hands on a trailer of your own.Our friends at Burley have given us a brand new Burley Travoy trailer to use at our bike move, which we’ll be giving away to one of our lucky volunteers. So if you’ve been wanting to have your own trailer, or you would like to upgrade to a new one, this is your chance."
