With Biden and Democrats in narrow control of the Senate, San Francisco is in a race to get cash for its next big transit project

This wraps up the first week of operations for the new Salesforce Transit Center, phase 1. Reviews are in, and most people seem to love the rooftop park and the grand design of the facility. But what about phase 2, the train station below it--and the thing that makes it the future Grand Central Station of the West?

The San Francisco Planning Department will be presenting the San Francisco Board of Supervisors with updated plans for getting trains from the Caltrain corridor into the lower level of the Transbay Transit Center.

Today, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a story that made it appear that San Francisco County Transportation Authority  (CTA) Chairman Aaron Peskin wants to shelve the downtown extension of Caltrain, now that the Trump Administration seems to have jammed up funding for Caltrain electrification.

Earlier this week, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority Commission voted to delay nearly $7 million slated towards design and construction of the Caltrain downtown connection (DTX) to the Transbay Transit Center, citing concerns, among other things, over the leaning of the 58-story Millennium Tower.
