Continental Crosswalks and Sharrows Striped at Market and Sixth Streets
The SF Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) highlighted crosswalks and added sharrows at the intersection of Market and Sixth streets last week. The improvements should improve pedestrian visibility and help drivers comply with the mandatory right turn put in place last year.

Dangerous Rincon Hill Intersection Finally Getting the City’s Attention
On December 10, 2004, Katy Liddell had just stepped off the N-Judah with a sack of cleaning supplies and was walking to her Portside apartment at Harrison and Main in Rincon Hill, when she noticed a cadre of emergency vehicles surrounding the intersection. Many a cycling tot will get another chance to graduate from training wheels this Sunday on safe, car-free streets by the Bay. Sunday Streets returns to Bayview with a tweaked route this year to include the Lower Potero Hill and Dogpatch neighborhoods in the plethora of family-friendly activities.

Within a span of just a few hours, a new parklet has transformed a part of Columbus Avenue in North Beach. Fronting Caffe Roma, it's the second project to bring some breathing room to choked sidewalks on a section where cafe and restaurant life fill one of the city's densest and most historic neighborhoods.

JFK Drive Bikeway Promises Pleasant Travel in Golden Gate Park
As early as this spring, residents and tourists could be enjoying a world-class bi-directional, physically-separated bikeway along a 1.5 -mile stretch of Golden Gate Park's John F. Kennedy (JFK) Drive as part of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition's (SFBC) Connecting the City campaign for a network of routes safe and comfortable enough for an eight or eighty-year-old.

Two-Way Hayes Street Proposal Wins Approval at SFMTA Hearing
A plan to restore two-way traffic on several blocks of Hayes and Fell Streets in Hayes Valley that were converted to one-way streets in the 1950s was approved at an SFMTA hearing today following a strong show of support from residents, merchants and neighborhood associations. It now goes to the SFMTA Board for approval.
