I'm currently on a European junket, and ahead of the more serious Streetfilms that will come out of it, I thought it would be prudent to put up some everyday street scenes of bicycling in Amsterdam.

Perfect Match: Metro Vancouver Melds Bikes and Transit
Last month Streetfilms took a look at how Vancouver is making big strides toward becoming a safe bicycling city. As we learned while in town for the Velo-City 2012 conference, the city government is not alone -- it has a great partner in the regional transportation agency, TransLink, which provides transit service for 22 regional municipalities, plus funding for a network of major roads and cycling infrastructure and programs. TransLink views cycling as a complement to the agency's trains, buses, and ferries.

Flashback: The Mother of All Streetfilms
Hey SF, Aaron is out with a nasty bug today, so to keep your content craving sated I thought I'd share this proto-Streetfilm from 2004, which Clarence Eckerson recently unearthed for a museum exhibit about the history of NYC activism. It's about the campaign to get cars out of Manhattan's Central Park. Anyone who lives in a city where cars regularly invade the flagship park can probably relate.
