This Week: D1 Supervisor Candidates Talk Livable Streets
This week, a supervisor candidate forum series on streets and parks kicks off in District 1, the East Bay Bike Party brings back the zombies, and Sunday Streets comes to Berkeley.
Here are all the highlights from the Streetsblog calendar:
- Tuesday: SPUR Lunchtime Forum: Geary Boulevard. Join SPUR, Chester Fung from the SF County Transportation Authority, and other experts for a discussion on the developing plans for transforming Geary Boulevard with Bus Rapid Transit. 12:30 p.m.
- Thursday: Supervisor Candidate Forum: Streets and Parks, District 1. Will your next supervisor be a leader in livable streets? Candidates in District 1 kick off the first of six forums to share their views on issues around improving streets and parks. 6 p.m.
- Friday: East Bay Bike Party: Zombie Reunion Ride. The East Bay Bike Party brings its all-time most popular zombie-theme back from the grave. 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday: Sunday Streets Berkeley. Inspired by the success of Sunday Streets Streets in SF, Berkeley brings the event home, taking cars off of 17 blocks of Shattuck Avenue and opening them up to people. Check out the full list of activities here. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
