    Thanks for taking the time to write to Mr. Roadshow, Janet. Really strange that the Merc deleted the comments for that original column….In any case, how utterly misguided he was running that scaremongering piece, complete with someone writing in to admonish all of us to always yield to cars in our own neighborhoods. Cos, you know, the drivers have won and they’ll kill us all otherwise.

    The SFGate and Examiner pieces are reporting bay bridge safe, but are contradicted by Reporter Charles Heller of Sac Bee. Good interview with Heller on KQED’s Forum program yesterday. The Bridge bolts are compromised according to an extraordinary independent engineering review of 105 pages authored by Bechtel retired engineer who could not let this pass. Check it out on podcast. Heller has been covering this bridge’s problems for over a decade.
