Out of control driver almost hits news crew reporting on Altamount train derailment:

  • mx

BART recovering from major delays because of disabled train

K/T and N lines blocked by disabled train during rush hour

  • p_chazz

I seem to recall that several years ago GGT tried a shuttle from the San Rafael Transit Center to the Larkspur ferry terminal that was discontinued for lack of ridership.

  • p_chazz

Seems like BART is ALWAYS recovering from major delays.

  • murphstahoe

shocking – given that taking that shuttle requires you to get to the transit center in the first place.

pretty much anywhere in marin that you might want to get to SF from, there is a bus direct to SF. Why would you instead take a bus to the transit center, to get a shuttle to the ferry, to the ferry?

thus most just drive to the ferry.

SMART changes the equation because SMART doesn’t get stuck in traffic – but we’ll see if the SMART team is capable of really dialing in their service.
