Breaking News: Pedestrian Killed at 4th and King This Morning
This morning just after 5 am a pedestrian was killed when a tractor-trailer hit another truck, sending that vehicle careening into the victim. Details are still scant, but major media outlets report the fatal incident has backed up traffic on Northbound I-280 and delayed Muni lines that pass through the intersection. Newsom Christens New Mojo Cafe “Parklet,” Pledges More to Come
With scores of people crowding the sidewalk and taking up one lane of traffic on Divisadero in front of Mojo Bicycle Cafe, Mayor Gavin Newsom, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi and city department heads heralded a new "parklet" sidewalk extension as a piece of a growing trend of re-purposing street space for people instead of cars. The new trial parklet was built into the space formerly occupied by two parked vehicles, providing several hundred square feet of public space and benches, tables, planters and bike racks.

Protected Bike Lane on Market Street Keeps Getting Better
The gradually evolving traffic rearrangement on Market Street got a boost yesterday as the MTA re-striped the bicycle and motor vehicle crossing zone at Market and 11th, clarifying how the vehicles are supposed to negotiate the street with bold new markings. In addition to clearer turn and merge arrows for motorists, there are numerous sharrows starting as far back as Van Ness and Market and extending through the intersection of Market and 10th streets.
