Weekend Roundup: Crowded Sidewalks, Shared Streets, and Shiny Trains
Streetsblog San Francisco will be taking a much-needed vacation next week, returning after the 4th of July Holiday on Tuesday. Headlines, syndication and some 'light publishing' will be done by other California editors. Before singing off we wanted to leave you with a couple of shorties to start out your summer.

Last Sunday Streets of the Year, Excelsior
Thousands of people, including lots of kids, came out to the Excelsior neighborhood yesterday morning and afternoon to enjoy a bright and sunny Sunday Streets on Mission Street. This one ran from Avalon/Theresa to Geneva Streets, and marks the final Sunday Streets event of 2017.

Sunday Streets Bayview/Dogpatch
Circus performers, live bands, advocates, and even a few farm animals enjoyed the sunshine of yesterday's “Sunday Streets” through the Dogpatch and Bayview neighborhoods. This Sunday Streets took up a roughly three-mile stretch of the southbound lanes of Third Street, which was closed to cars from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Eyes on the Street: Tenderloin Sunday Streets
Sunday from 11 to 4 p.m. it was the Tenderloin's turn to enjoy its streets free of car traffic. The route followed Fulton St. between Hyde and Larkin, Larkin to Ellis St., Ellis to Jones St., Jones to Golden Gate Ave., and Golden Gate back to Larkin St. The streets were filled with various activities and opportunities, including a "kid's bike swap" with the San Francisco Yellow Bike Project, seen above, where families could bring their children's bikes to have them repaired or, if necessary, replaced for free (or with a donation).
