Urban free-wheelin’ fun at the Mattson Technology San José VíaVelo

7:42 AM PDT on March 16, 2010

"Mark your calendars! For one day this May,
cyclists, pedestrians, joggers, and all other self-powered movers and
shakers will have a street to themselves in the heart of Downtown San
Jose. The Mattson Technology San José VeloVía is an unprecedented event
that will clear San Fernando Street of cars so that the community can
enjoy Downtown at ground level, in the open air.

The Mattson Technology VíaVelo, presented by the Silicon Valley
Bicycle Coalition and the City of San José, is part of a global movement
to open up city streets for the community to use for walking, cycling,
and other human-powered fun. All ages are welcome to enjoy the
celebration, which will feature casual bike rides, live bands, contests,
fun activities, and connections to the Guadalupe River Trail."
