PLEASE COME TO THIS MEETING, THURSDAY, MAY 27, AT 6 PM (LEONARD FLYNN SCHOOL-CHAVEZ & HARRISON), AND
    VOICE YOUR CONCERNS:

THE PUC PROPOSED ENLARGED SEWER PIPE IS A TERRIBLE SOLUTION TO FLOODING:
There is flooding because there is so much wonderful, fresh Creek water below grade !

PRECITA CREEK FLOWS DOWN 26TH STREET underground INTO A LAKE BURIED UNDER ST LUKE’S HOSPITAL AND FLOODS THE AREA. no surprise here !

THE PRECITA CREEK JOINS THE ISLAIS CREEK AND SERPENTINE CREEK AT THE 101 INTERCHANGE providing AN ENORMOUSLY RICH RESOURCE TO BE USED ECOLOGICALLY, ECONOMICALLY, & ARTFULLY.

CHAVEZ IS THE NORTHERN FRAME OF THE ISLAIS CREEK WATERSHED AND MUST BE TREATED IN THE SPECIAL SIGNIFICANT MANNER THAT IT DESERVES.

PLEASE TELL THE PUC AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT THAT THE ENLARGED SEWER PIPE IS A BAD IDEA AND THEIR PLANS MUST BE MORE ECOLOGICAL, ECONOMICAL, CREATE HABITAT, AND RESPECT THE RICH RESOURCE OF THE FRESH WATER BELOW, PLUS,

CREATE A POWERFUL & MAGNETIC SOUTHERN GATEWAY TO THE MISSION, BERNAL, POTRERO, BAYVIEW, NOE VALLEY COMMUNITIES.

THE CURRENT PLANS ARE WASTEFUL, COSTLY, AND SIMPLY, NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
THE LOW IMPACT DESIGN (LID) PROPOSED, IS ONLY A PARTIAL SOLUTION; A CHANGE ORDER IS NEEDED TO GET IT RIGHT !

THE PROPOSED SEWER PIPE WILL MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THE FRESH WATER ALONG CHAVEZ, AND POINTS EAST, AND USE IT FOR IRRIGATION OF LOCAL PARKS, OR DAYLIGHT THE CREEK IN THIS AREA. THERE ARE MULTIPLE CREATIVE, ECOLOGICAL OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE AND IMPLEMENT.

PLEASE HELP: COME TO THE MEETING; AND SPREAD THE WORD ! YOUR VOICE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !
LET’S TRULY REVITALIZE OUR COMMUNITIES AND CREATE A MAGNIFICENT PLACE FOR ALL SPECIES INCLUDING CARS, PEDESTRIANS, BICYCLISTS !

I wasn’t able to attend, but I’m hoping some information that came out of that meeting is posted somewhere. Does anyone know if something new is online?
