“City Kills Housing and Hotel Near Moscone”

I don’t understand why this was an SFMTA project at all. They own the garage, sure, and if the resulting funds from the development project go to transportation, all the better, but the city has agencies that know how to solicit and evaluate bids for housing development, while SFMTA has never managed a project like this and managed to make everyone furious. Is there a reason why this wasn’t handled by an agency that actually knows what they’re doing?

  • Those agencies don’t exist in this town.
