This Week: Bike to Work Day, Fell and Oak Bike Lane Celebration
Finally, Wigglers can celebrate a safer commute with the completion of the Fell and Oak bike lanes, just in time for Bike to Work Day.
Here are this week’s highlights from the Streetsblog calendar:
- Tuesday: Fell and Oak Bike Lanes Celebration: Join SFMTA officials, Supervisor London Breed, and the SF Bicycle Coalition to celebrate the long-awaited completion of the Fell and Oak bike lanes, now featuring protective planters and bulb-outs with rain gardens. 12 p.m.
- Wednesday: The Metropolitan Transportation Commission will host an open house on Plan Bay Area, the region’s plan for transit-oriented growth, at the Hotel Whitcomb. 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Thursday: It’s the Bay Area’s 21st annual Bike to Work Day — join a commuter convoy in your neighborhood and enjoy snacks and coffee at energizer stations along the way.
- Saturday: The SFMTA will hold an open house about upgrades on 16th Street for pedestrian safety and Muni’s 22-Fillmore line. 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
