This Week: Geary, Transit Operations, Biased Stops

Here is a list of events this week.

  • Tuesday Geary Boulevard Improvement Project Office Hours. Join SFMTA for a community event, where you can talk to staff about the project proposals, share feedback and learn how to provide public comment at the upcoming SFMTA Board of Directors hearing. Tuesday, August 8, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Hummus Bodega (outside in the parklet on 20th Ave), 5549 Geary Boulevard, S.F.
  • Wednesday Future State Funding for Transit Operations. Join SPUR to hear from panelists from University of California's Institute of Transportation Studies to learn about the research they've been conducting on transit ridership and the future of state funding for transit. Wednesday, August 9, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Register for Zoom link.
  • Thursday Putting an End to Biased Traffic Stops in San Francisco. Join SPUR to hear a panel of experts and advocates talk about efforts to end pretextual stops in San Francisco and why they are necessary. Thursday, August 10, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Register for Zoom link.
  • Friday Woman and Non-Binary Morning Ride. Join the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition for a socially distanced bike ride for women & nonbinary cyclists. Friday, August 11, 7:15-8:45 a.m. McLaren Lodge, 501 Stanyan Street, S.F.
  • Friday San Pablo Meeting. Join Bike East Bay at the outdoor back patio of Stay Gold Deli in West Oakland for an update on Alameda CTC’s plans for protected bike lanes and bus-only lanes on San Pablo Avenue, Downtown Oakland to South Berkeley, talk about campaign strategies and volunteer opportunities, then go on a short corridor walk to check out existing conditions and envision future updates. Friday, August 11, 6-8 p.m., Stay Gold Deli, 2635 San Pablo Ave, Oakland.
  • Saturday BMAGIC Bike it Forward Giveaway. Come volunteer at the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition's end-of-summer Bike It Forward giveaway with BMAGIC – a network of San Francisco neighborhood-based nonprofit organizations that support community members in Bayview Hunters Point. 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. NOW Hunters Point, 155 Jennings St @ Cargo way, S.F.
