Reminder: Statewide Bike Summit Coming Next Week to Sacramento
The California Bicycle Coalition will host two-plus days of workshops, discussions, presentations, networking events, and– don’t forget–parties next week, beginning Tuesday evening. The biannual event gets bigger every time, and this year is no exception. In addition to the many events highlighted at this earlier SBCA post, the conference will close on Friday with a chance to participate in one of four local bike tours with new and old bike friends.
Friday’s bike tours will include:
- recent “quick and cheap” bike infrastructure in Sacramento’s downtown area
- a tour and discussion of efforts to increase biking in the car-oriented suburb of North Natomas
- a preview tour of the Railyards project just north of the Amtrak station, a huge infill project that will double the size of downtown and has generated debate about new affordable housing
- a curated ride to check out the famous bike-friendliest city of Davis, including a look at new wayfinding and the first protected bike intersection in California
